The role of the Sleep Training Professional
Physiology and psychology of sleep and the importance of sleep in babies and young children
The relationship between diet, nutrition and sleep in babies and children
Installing good sleep habits in babies 0-
Developing sleep training techniques from 6 months
Understanding common sleep problems in babies and children, including refusal to sleep, and how to advise parents accordingly
Less common sleep problems; night terrors, head banging, sleep apnoea, circadian rhythm disorders
Different theories and approaches regarding definition of a sleep disorder
REM and non-
The relationship between routine and sleep, including nap times
Stumbling blocks to success
Developing a specific action plan appropriate to the needs of the baby, child and parents
Implementation of a positive routine with twins and multiples, including multiple children in one room
Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, understanding current government guidance as regards SIDS and how to implement it in practice
Travelling with babies and children, including jet lag
Transition from cot to bed; changing rooms
Working with parents; understanding different cultural and family perspectives which may need to be taken into consideration when addressing sleep routines

Our Sleep Training course is ideal for nannies, maternity nurses and child-carers aiming to gain additional knowledge or to specialise in sleep training as a part of their career. MANNTA Paediatric First Aid Course

For Ofsted, CSSIW and Scottish requirement for Early Years
Our 12 hour Paediatric First Aid Course is perfect for people working or looking to work within the childcare industry including Maternity Nurses, Night Nannies, Daily Nannies, Au Pairs, and Child Minders who care for children and babies up to 8 years of age.
This essential course is held at our Kensington training location on the first Saturday of every month from 10am until 5pm, Candidates will learn and demonstrate the correct paediatric first aid skills they may one day need to handle an emergency situation. Candidates are them given 4 weeks to complete the theory part of the course from the comfort of their home.
This Paediatric First Aid course is also very popular with parents and grandparents
